What is restock detected?
Restock detected is a demand event raised when a product that was previously low on stock or out of stock has had its inventory replenished. It identifies the moment supply returns for a product that demand had outrun.
What triggers a restock detected event?
The platform watches inventory levels for each product. When a product crosses back above its low-stock state after having been at or below it, a restock event is raised. Because these are discrete inventory crossings rather than gradual trends, they are surfaced immediately, without the spacing applied to more volatile events.
Why does a restock matter?
A product that sold down to low stock had demand; when it comes back, that demand is often still there. Restock events flag exactly the products where renewed supply meets existing interest — the strongest candidates for a second push.
What messaging does restock detected enable?
Restocked products are natural candidates for “Back in stock” messaging or renewed editorial focus, reconnecting returning supply with the shoppers who were already interested.
